CPD for qualified first aiders and ambassadors

This session is for Mental Health First Aiders and Mental Health and Safety Ambassadors to deepen their learning around specific themed areas whilst strengthening their connection as a network.

We provide your post-trained network with a bespoke programme of CPD (continuing professional development) sessions throughout the year to increase confidence and improve application. Each session includes:

  1. Group check-in – A space for attendees to check-in with how they are feeling
  2. Themed content – A training session on a specific theme
  3. Live supervision – Breakout group work on specific live cases

The following sessions are available for booking as part of a programme. We recommend booking a session every 6 weeks averaging around 8 per year:

  • Session 1 – Peer support – creating a framework to support each other
  • Session 2 – Resilience – building and promoting resilience
  • Session 3 – Leading a meeting – presenting in a team meeting
  • Session 4 – Difficult conversations – framework for conflict and anger
  • Session 5 – Self-care – tools to look after self and promote self-care
  • Session 6 – Boundaries – how to be boundaried in our roles
  • Session 7 – Managing risk – managing high risk and suicide
  • Session 8 – Trauma – managing trauma and support for trauma
  • Session 9 – Dealing with difficult times – in line with the current global issues
  • Session 10 – ALGEE/ SPEAK©  deep-dive –practical examples against each area
  • Session 11 – Supporting grief and loss – responding appropriately 
  • Session 12 – Spotting burnout behaviours – supporting others to make change
  • Session 13 – Mental health & performance – educating managers 
  • Session 14 – Best practice meeting format – how to open and close a meeting
  • Session 15 – Supporting isolation – awareness and support
  • Session 16 – Non-violent communication – expressing feelings and needs
  • Improved peer support and self-care
  • Increased knowledge and awareness 
  • Confidence to support complex cases
  • Each session is 90 minutes
  • Session can be delivered as part of a programme or booked individually 
  • Between 6 and 25 delegates
  • Interactive delivery using polls, chat, breakout discussions, live supervision
